Practice Update: Dr Blenkarn’s Retirement and Welcoming New GP Partners

We wish to announce the retirement of Dr Robin Blenkarn at the end of June this year. He has served the community as a full time GP Partner for the past 30 years, originally at Locking Hill Surgery and latterly here at Five Valleys Medical Practice. He has been a GP trainer for the majority of this time alongside his clinical commitments, worked as an ENT Hospital Practitioner at Stroud Hospital, and has also been Clinical Director of our local Primary Care Network for the past 3 years. We will miss him, but hope you will all join us in wishing him a happy and well earned retirement.

At the same time it also gives us pleasure to welcome two new Partners to the practice, Dr Mark Seaman and Dr Clare Oliver, both of whom have been working at Five Valleys Medical Practice in salaried roles. Dr Ewart Lewis will continue as Senior Partner, the other Partner being Dr Alistair Smith.  This will ensure continuity of service provision for our patient population moving forward, alongside our extended clinical teams of doctors, nurses and advanced nurse practitioners, practice pharmacists and support staff.

We hope Dr Blenkarn’s retirement will not cause too much disruption for his patients, and we would like to provide reassurance that we will work hard to ensure a smooth transition and promote continuity of care within the practice.
